and this is Shocking ....
yes, child marriages may still be a common practise in many parts of the world, but we are not talking about young boys and girls being match-made together ....
we are talking about old men marrying young girls who haven't even reached puberty yet !!!! .....

“I hated life with him,” she said, staring at the ground in front of her. The wedding came so quickly that no one bothered to tell her how women become pregnant, or what a wife’s role is, she added.

One morning last month, Arwa Abdu Muhammad Ali walked out of her husband’s house here and ran to a local hospital, where she complained that he had been beating and sexually abusing her for eight months.
That alone would be surprising in Yemen, a deeply conservative Arab society where family disputes tend to be solved privately. What made it even more unusual was that Arwa was 9 years old.
In most other parts of the world, that would have been pedophillia .... this is just SICK SICK SICK !!!!! ......
what kind of sickos would sexually abuse kids ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! .......

If ur gonna say the way of Islam teaches them about the way they are in now or they are influenced by Prophet Muhammad's teachings..please, for goodness sake, read up the Hadiths and the Quran to prevent embarrassing yourselves. Or at least have produce something substantial to back u up. Anything i see blasphemous, i will, without qualms or hesitation...lodge a police report and notify MUIS of such things.. i have enough of people producing lame/shitty/bullshit/fake texts of the Quran and run away innocently...

On the other hand, I think some of the young girls are really brave and admirable. Despite being so young, she could find the courage to fight for her future and destiny by running away from the abusive marriage and go to a court...all by herself!
Let us not forget that in the first place, she was living in an extremely conservative society and as mentioned in the article, such case (of going to court) rarely happened there. Nonetheless, such couragous acts may well spark off a revolution in the way of thinking of that society, given the amount of media attention it has gained there.
What would 10 year old girls in our society be doing? Playing at playgrounds, watching cartoons and preparing for their streaming exams?
Admirable...truly admirable.

Anyway, that's straying from topic. From my point of view, child marriages is something to be banned. Men obviously wanted no 'marriage', all they want is a one-night stand with some innocent virgin. And that, is nothing more than pedophilic behaviour.
Simply put, these men are just pedophiles, plain and simple.

i have read it before and im not ignorant about such things that happen all around.. Just like Christianity and other religions, there are deviant sects that exists that stray from the mainstream/orthodox religion that the majority of the world preaches and pray..

Shi'a Muslims are "apostates" and believe in different things that a Sunni Muslim does. Sunni Muslims are the mainstream/orthodox muslims. Moreover, in Yemen, they are ruled by the Syari'ah constitution which is different from the secular state that we live in.
If there's an article about a Mormon and polygamy, i dun think it's right if i say that all christians practice polygamy too although a Mormon believes in Jesus just like all christians do.
