    • What if the parents themselves have no values in them to pass onto their children in the first place?

For example, you can take a look at the current generation of SG people from the SG forumers in here.

      Values? Wisdom? Tolerance?

      I don't think so. angel.png

      That's alright, I'm an exception afterall. angel.png

    • haha, okay. lets take it that parents do have the values itself, but should they alone be the one teaching the kids?

    • thats true, no time. at the current society, both parents are working, and most of the time, kids are left with their maids at home, now you tell me? who will be teaching the so called correct values most of the time? the maids themselves?

kids have a thinking that somehow they must follow what adults do, but do all adults or parents for that matter set a good example? at all?

teachers, schools, education centres, child care centres?
do they teach the correct values den?
besides, education is about guiding the child the right way

By rite, education shld plays a part too.  But given the way SG is "operating", to be able to get the students passing with excellent grades are already a challenge, moreover, Im sorry to say, (but no offense to the dedicated ones) the teachers of the younger generation themsleves do not have much honourable moral too.

If I have to choose, I'd say society.  Of cos some wld say, "It starts with me" , tat's rite too and tat's a challenge in this society.  If money is not a serious issue in this society, i dare to say tat most mothers wld love to stay home & guide her kids.

x2 notthat i think my parents don't have much value in them, but more like do they know how to teach their young? actually i think most parents really have no idea how to teach their kids. and not many will actually admit to that fact and willing to learn or get help.

    • everyone in the environment plays a part...not just parents. Everyone whom the child is exposed to has a chance to teach him about values...even when he meets with an old granny by the road side.

    • nowadays the kids either have good results or good values.

you see those kids from top schools are havoc sia.

from the way they dress to the hobbies they do.

they think just because they are top school students(elites) they can just go f around and do whatever they like and play around like those hollywood stars.

actually the hollywood is having a really bad influence on teens nowadays.everyone want to be the next britney, rihanna, christina agurelia, pussycat dolls.

show off as much skin as possible, have as many bfs as possible, sleep with as many guys as possible, enjoy life to the max, go clubbing like there's no tomo and get drunk and wasted and take drugs.

i really wonder what kind of values hollywood is teaching the teens nowadays.
